Recovery Republic has recently been granted £9,780 as part The National Lottery Communities Fund Awards for All programme to help deal with the COVID19 crisis.
Recovery Republic is a supported self-help wellbeing centre based in the centre of Heywood. Their overall aim is to promote the well-being and health of their local community. Their mission is to promote health and well-being for socially isolated people which has become significantly exacerbated during the current situation.
The new funding will help in making sure Isolated individuals will have improved connectivity enabling them to deal better with the COVID-19 virus pandemic. Increased resilience and better-coping skills leading to improved health and wellbeing. As well as having better access to information, improved connectivity and referrals leading to more sustainability during this crisis.
"Without this funding we would struggle to continue our work in the community during this difficult time. Traditional funding streams has been seriously restricted or paused, so we needed to access emergency funding quickly to change the way we interact with our vulnerable groups to protect them and support them during the COVID19 crisis." Michael Taylor, Recovery Republic.
